Our kitchen counter in the morning

I've been juicing since I cut out caffeine. It's the best boost in the a.m.!

Salad of the week

Marinated steak, mesclun greens, grape tomato, hard boiled egg, balsamic & olive oil. Umm. The Mr. makes a mean salad.

Someone had a job interview yesterday

So, he took himself down to the new salon in town, traded in his long hair for a short do & a shave. He's a new man.

New favorite snack

I love stonyfield organic yogurts- but the "blend" just hit it out of the park!

Valentines Dinner

It wouldn't be a valentines dinner in our house if there wasn't some sort of seafood involved. Last night's dinner consisted of winter flounder stuffed with sea scallops & carrot/celery/onion breadcrumb stuffing- Rice pilaf with sauteed mushrooms, sauteed carrots & onion with a nice mesclun green salad.
Delicious as always!

history repeats itself

like some bad dejavu, i know i've written these lines before. i know i've remembered the lyrics, they seem so close to me, yet i know they are truly so far away. it's like history repeating itself over and over. i remember when i was in college this psychic told me i have a little closet and i keep filling it up with furniture and lampshades, books & puzzles, more shit after shit...when all i really need to do is empty out the room.

jackson browne may sing another song, yet none will ever send me spiraling back like this one:

"When you look over your shoulder
And you see the light that you have left behind
When you think it over, do you ever wonder
What it is that holds your life so close to mine
You love the thunder and you love the rain
What you see revealed within the anger is worth the pain
And before the lighning fades and you surrender
You've got a second to look at the dark side of a man
You love the thunder, you love the rain
You know your hunger, oo, like you know your name
I know you wonder how you ever came
To be a woman in love with a man in search of the flame
Draw the shades and light the fire
For the night, it holds you and it calls your name
And just like your lover knows your desire
And the crazy longing that time will never tame
You love the thunder, oo, you love the rain
You know your hunger, oo, like you know your name
I got your number, if it's still the same
And you can dream, but you can never go back the way you came"
