TGIF
Seriously. This week has been BUSY! I am content that its almost the end of the work day! Actually more like PLEASED! I am having my 3rd cup of coffee... Although I think this is decaf, its pumpkin spice in the spirit of Halloween and the Fall.
I had a very tedious day of putting together "custom" production books for our crew heading to Ft. Lauderdale for the OOTS arrival. (Oasis of the Seas) Each persons' book has to be different and pertain to their particular job and knowledge of the project we have been working on for over a year. This morning, very early, it set sail from Turku, Finland and 12 days after crossing the Atlantic, it will settle in its new home Termail 18 Port Everglades. You can see I am very excited about this.....The departure photos were breathtaking!
Anyhow, with 11 books complete, my day consisted of constant trips to the printer, very loud necessary music through my headphones and the 3-hole punch, which I would be fine if I never had to look at again!
....But, Miss organization is very pleased with her pretty books and as always extreme attention to detail.
(You can tell I am either very tired or starting to lose it when I speak in the third person:)
Its Halloween tomorrow! It has always been my favorite holiday. I starts to feel less like I remember as I get older. I also have yet to carve my pumpkin.... Have I turned into a complete procrastinator lately? Well yes, in some regard.
Mike and I did something out of the ordinary last night. We went to a movie. We rarely go to the Theatre and when we do its only been on a Sunday afternoon. So when we put on our PJ's and slippers and headed out of the house for the 9:20pm showing of "Where The Wild Things Are" I felt a breif moment of excitement just from the spontaneity. I have to say. It was a cute movie, I read the book and went to his art exhibit at the Skirball Center in Los Angeles. I was impressed with the imagery and the fact that they were puppets and not the expected animation. Imagination, Lonliness, Anger, Jealousy, Friendship, Fear, Guilt, Contentness. Boy are we 'old poops' though, we almost nodded off throughout the last 1/2 hour. We don't seem to be able to stay awake passed 10:30 during the week! But we made it through, extra buttery popcorn, swedish fish & all!
Okay, only a 1/2 hour left:) then I am sneaking out the door!
I am going to go meet Kathleen for downtown Chester night, Our tiny little town, where the artsy farsty come out to play by strolling down the small strip of two streets on Fridays between 5 and 9. They are even having a little parade tonight. Should be fun~
I have to go home first and bring my little black Kitty inside the house to be safe from the creepy devils night kids in the neighborhood.
Wishing everyone a safe and happy Halloween weekend with hopefully no eggs on your car or toilet paper in your trees!

Raining again.
I am only a fan of the rain if I am curled up on the couch watching movies. Other than that I do not like it at all. Well the weeks are flying by now. Winter is around the corner. Sunday was probably the last beautiful day of the year. I am glad we took a few hours to go out crabbing! Dad got a bigger boat and it fit the 6 of us comfortably plus Carly (the dog) It was a great day!

Getting Ready for our first winter in our new home!
Check out this amazing wood stove we bought yesterday! How much does this go with the house!!! We are so excited to get cozy and warm. Can't wait to get an old fashioned Love Seat to go along side in the Den! The thought of winter doesnt seem so bad afterall!

It must be the weather...
It must be the dreariness of the sky; the air becoming colder, the rain that makes me reminisce and look back. Last night while looking through unpacked boxes for the title to Mikes Trooper, instead I found an old folder from college, a voice & movement class & a playwriting class. I read some stories once written by me, and as time goes by it seems as though my memory of those days has faded. Yet, something by looking at the past forces me to compare my reality versus where, back then, I thought I would have ended up.
And so today I feel as though I am not quite as interested in what I have chosen for a career and that my dreams of being on the stage, singing "Someone elses story" from Chess, or acting Sooze in Suburbia, or the desire to travel at my own schedule, take a few photographs, maybe write a story, maybe work for the National Geographic and kill two birds with one stone. Hell, I don't know, all I know is this weather makes me think more often than when the sun is shining.
I watch the levels of creativity in this business and and I think....Hey, I can do that.
But instead I am MISS ORGANIZATION. I guess that's what I am good at, multi-tasking & problem solving and paying attention to every detail so that others get to think fancy thoughts.
I too would like to sit and imagine...I too would like to be behind the lens of a camera and edit my visions together to create something mind blowing!

Pouring
It has been pouring on and off ALL day today. Its days like these where I just want to lay on the couch and watch movie after movie and maybe eat ice cream right out of the carton!
But no, I have to leave for work in 20 minutes to tend bar for 6 hours.
I am not looking forward, although it will be worth it once I have the cash to pay for my new bartstools we are picking up tomorrow morning. Very excited about that!!

Belt Buckles
Since I do spend ALOT of time with a Cobbler, I have been very much into belts and custom belt buckles. I picked one up in California when we went last year and he made a belt for it. They keep getting in new kinds of leather, so I found this buckle online, it was done by casting...its listed for $185 dollars so its never going to be mine. But I like it. Finally some time to myself to be creative
With all the stress of work lately and odd schedules with work/forced furloughs....I finally had a night to myself to sit up in my new little work room and get down to beading. I went to the Hammered Edge Gallery this weekend....Pricey...but I found some beautiful pieces and she taught me to use a button as a clasp.
Everything is sterling and semi precious stones, Amber, Hematite, etc....and the Austrian Crystal bracelet is from beads an older couple gave to my Mom many years ago, They are probably from the 30's. I am very excited about this piece... It will go perfectly with the Black Satin Dolce & Gabbana dress I am wearing to this upcoming weekends wedding in the Cape...Thanks to Kai for that one!
