Love Makes a House a Home
Lets see...With the awesome help of my parents, we were able to spend Two full months renovating the house so it was livable for us to move into. We gutted the kitchen and re-framed, new sheetrock, new electrical, new appliances, custom cabinets (Thanks JEFF!)
The floors of our home had never been finished so we tackled that & they really came out beautiful! We were very surprised, you really couldn't get an idea of the colors of the multiple kinds of wood the previous homeowner AKA flooring guy with extra materials.. had layed in each room. From Oak, to Cherry, to Ebony and so on....
The house, since its old, was sagging a little in the center, we took out a couple of walls,jacked up the house and replaced the 13 foot beams with 3 16ft micro lambs. The whole downstairs became this open space, which we love!
We still have alot of work ahead of us, there are 2 rooms upstairs that have not been touched, but now that we have visitors coming!!! it gives us to motivation to get going on that. I just picked out paint for the studio "Pebble Stone"

We still have to have the uppers done, but we are going to do exposed shelving. I really like that look, plus it forces me to have to buy all new dishware that matches!!!!!!!!

This is Michael before Softball on Sunday last year, which was his last year of playing. This is also the first time he had shockingly came home with all of his long hair in a zip loc baggy. Now, it seems he likes to do this surprise once a year as just last week, same story. Its huge how a haircut just changes ones look, esteem and overall morale. (That is...unless its a really bad one:)
This is our last vacation when we went to Cali and got our first sunburns in Santa Monica. We are coming upon 1 year since this trip & I am so looking forward to my vacation coming up at the end of August!!!!
& This is us on our first day of crabbing this summer. Ahh what I wouldnt give for another clear & Sunny day like that!!
If Sheila Can...
Somehow manage to update a Blog daily while being a mother of 2 young children....Then I NEED to step up to the plate. Well, its been some time since last ive written. I have no complaints, well maybe except for the dreary weather & strange summer we have been having.
Mike & I are doing great! We are both working very hard & enjoying our new home & life together more than ever!
I also LOVE my job, I am challenged mentally every day and at times it can be extremely overwhelming, but I am learning so much and I just thank god to have been given this opportunity.
For those of you who don't know, I work for an Advertising Agency and I just got moved over to the TV team of the company and today I have been asked to join them on a shoot upstate New York as asst. producer....VERY EXCITING!!!
Mike & I are doing great! We are both working very hard & enjoying our new home & life together more than ever!
I also LOVE my job, I am challenged mentally every day and at times it can be extremely overwhelming, but I am learning so much and I just thank god to have been given this opportunity.
