My little girl
This is Carmie while I am working. God it's so tough to be stuck in the office today after the holiday and none of our clients are even open today! Bummer!
I wish I was home!

Impulsive buy
I know I know. I've been known for a few impulsive splurges now and again. I've been looking at these Moroccan poufs...I was thinking something like this would be PERFECT for Carmie's room- A nice little footrest for me when I am sitting in the rocker nursing.
I think I hear you saying...Katrina, Carmie's nursery is not even finished yet. Do you really need a genuine leather Moroccan Pouf?
The answer is yes. It was on sale from $295 to $113 and there was only 1 left and I had 9 minutes to buy it so I did. It will arrive in January. The end.
Invoke the rich history, tradition and beauty of Morocco with this timeless pouf. A sultry red tone and contrast stitching creates a visually intriguing tableau, adding instant appeal to any room. This versatile accent can be used as a foot rest, small table, or decorative décor, to suit your every whim.

Lucky Now
"I don’t remember, were we wild and young
All that’s faded into memory
I feel like somebody I don’t know
Are we really who we used to be
Am I really who I was
The lights will draw you in
And the dark will bring you down
And the night will break your heart
Only if you’re lucky now"

Happy Thanksgiving
We had a great day for Carmie's first Thankgiving! We all slept in for the first time in awhile. Mike spent an hour chopping wood while Carmie and I hung in front of the tube. We headed over to the Cartwrights around noon. We had a great dinner, there was 18 of us. Carmie was very excited by all of the activity so she only napped 20 minutes.
She was definitely the light of the day, everyone enjoyed passing her around and were amazed by how strong and smart she already is at just 5 months.
We left around 6:30pm & She slept the car ride home (20 minutes) and then was wide awake. I finally got her to fall asleep at 9:30pm, she said "ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma" over and over. It was the coolest thing and I wished for a video camera at that moment, but the moment was just too cool to enjoy I didn't want to get up & shift her attention.
Around 10:30 she woke up in hysterics which she hasn't done since she was just born- I grabbed her and held her tight and then she went back to sleep soundly in my arms. My tired little party girl!

Sunday quick visit with Jayda
Carmie wanted to put everything in her mouth at this particular moment when we made a quick visit over grandmas house to see little Jayda. But nothing tasted as good as Jayda's arm!
She tried out Jayda's swing and lasted about 5 minutes. She really doesn't like to be tied down, she needs to move...alot. I tried so hard to put her in the Moby wrap later that night, about 4-5 times we tried and she wasn't having it...my independent little girl!

Already reminiscing
Carmen is just over 5 months old and I am already reminiscing to the day she was born.
My teeny little girl & her really happy grandparents!

Totally Worth it
Mike, so excited after Carmen-Sophia was born, headed out from the hospital the night before our discharge and told the italian place he just became a Dad and this is how they went overboard on his order for 2 plain cannoli's-
Also, anyone who knows me, knows this is my absolute favorite dessert.
This is the ONLY thing I miss about not being able to eat dairy.
& Oh, I would totally go through 70+ hours of labor for two of these again!

A Close to Perfect Sunday
FINALLY I had a full uninterrupted day with my daughter since going back to work and it was so close to perfect. The only one thing that could have made it better would have been for daddy to have been with us... but he had to roof.
We started the morning with a nice long nap! While she slept I tried my best to get the house in a 'somewhat' presentable order as Bev was coming to visit for lunch. Then we vegged on the couch watching the muppets. She played in her excersaucer while I fixed the bed. She is such a big girl---she hits the crap out of the ball that spins, that & the cell phone are her two favorite ones!
Beverly came and Carmie LOVED her birthday twin. They had a BLAST together, Carmie was all smiles. We had lunch....I made lunch. Wow. that's a first in awhile. Then we grabbed Stella and took a nice long walk down to the pond on Spring St. and back. The weather was perfect. I broke a sweat in my new wool peacoat (Thank you Gram) and Carmie fell fast into a deep sleep and woke just as we made it back to the driveway.
Mike got home and was able to see Bev for a bit and play with Carmie. We had Chinese and I was in bed by 9:30 totally exhausted.
Here's the precious girl:

Carmen's First Halloween
The weeks have been crazy! With having sold my car so quickly, Mike and I have been sharing the truck, which means longer days for all of us. He brings me to work early and picks me up late and then we go to get Carmie from Mom & Dads so by the time we get home it's about 7pm and she has been there since Mom picks her up each morning around 7.
So, for Halloween we were lucky to even get pumpkins this year, let alone carve them...which we did not.
Christina, Lena and Zack stopped by which was a great surprise and John, Sarah and Jayda came over for dinner. We watched crummy scary movies and we put Carmen in a little tutu that Christina's mom got her, along with her favorite wool hat topped it with a princess crown. We were not nearly as creative as Sarah... who dyed tights red and broke out not only puffy paint, but tinfoil and sponges to make Jayda's dragon costume!
It's great living so close to family. I don't think you really appreciate it until you have children of your own!

Carmie at 4.5 Months
My little baby girl is growing so remarkably fast! Kai gave us an exersaucer and Carmie loves it. She is pretty teeny so we stuff her Unicorn pillow pet behind her, but she touches the ground and moves herself around.
