However

This...has just completely made my day.
http://theoatmeal.com/comics/printers

Maybe it's...

Maybe its Yoga, Maybe it's 30 just around the corner. Mentally, emotionally questioning. Breaking it down, trying to read between the lines, find more time, find a way, a path, a list, a gift. It's just this moment, just this time and somedays it drags...somedays lags.
All we have is this moment...

So, if my body were to die tomorrow, would today be enough for me? The answer should be yes.

Just when I thought Winter would end...just for me....

It is SNOWING!! This week was quite strange, very warm early on & borderline Spring. (Monday was 58degrees.) I was so excited that it was still somewhat light out when I got home from work last night! Its been while. Now, its dumping out there! The snow is very wet however, so I doubt it will amount to anything. This kind of weather gives me no desire to be in the office. I would rather be snuggled up on the couch or in front of the fire. But I am trying to make the best of it by blasting Dar Williams.

Tomorrow, Kath, Soup & I are heading to the city to go to MOMA & do some shopping. Its going to be 20degrees. I will need plenty of layers to spend the day walking around there! Tim Burton has an exhibit, so I am really looking forward.
It should be fun, Soup has not been home from Maui since before Kathleen got married last year, so its been some time. We are going to have a blast!!

I am also looking forward to a long weekend with no work! Mike & I are going to head up to WineFest at the Casino, I was given passes from work. How nice! We have not been before but hear only good things.

We also plan to do some work on the house on Saturday night. There is this wooden wall in the living room I want to sheetrock and brighten everything up with the 'sandstone cove' paint that is the rest of the living room. I think just covering that wall with make the space look entirely different.

Yes!

Yes...I did go to Yoga on a FRIDAY night. It was a restorative/yin class, the "store" in restorative really sounds like SORE because that is how i feel!

Yes...I did just get two tickets to James Taylor & Carol King at the Mohegan Sun Arena on Sunday, June 13th in the arena on the FLOOR level! (So i guess I can forget about those boots I really wanted!)

Yes...I am sitting in front of the warm woodstove with a tiny glass of wine and so glad this work week is over!

Yes...What am I saying....I have to work tomorrow!

Yes...Stella (the dog) won't stop talking to me & its making me borderline crazy because I am talking back!

Yes, tomorrow I will FINALLY unpack the rest of the boxes that are in the extra room upstairs...They have been sitting there since last MARCH!

& Yes, I am going to go down to the Ivory when Mike gets home from his gig to support our friends band, UHF.
Goodnight~

Am I too old?

This is what I asked Michael this morning as I was getting ready for work, I had my long, black sweater over my skinny dark denim jeans and I tucked on my Via Spiga Black letter boots that go just under my knee over the jeans. (I haven''t been able to fit into these jeans since summer....so that was pretty exciting!) Sure last year with my cowboy boots...All the time....no question, but at the office......

Moving along, At OUR office, with the Young, fabulous & not so broke.... it seems to be the DAILY style, everyone is doing it...However, by everyone, I mean those aged 19-26.....So my question is "Am I TOO OLD?"
Mike just looked at me like I am a NUT... like he always does to my strange questions about style each morning:) His answer, of course is that I am NOT old....but with 30 creeping around the corner, sometimes I wonder!

on second thought,,,,,I think I should dye my hair Hot Pink tomorrow.

DAY 5 & My SECOND CUP OF ESPRESSO

Quitting smoking is BY FAR one of the hardest things I have ever tried to do. It is Day 5 and I am sipping away my second cup of Dark Magic espresso and craving only one thing more than anything in the world. A Marlboro Light to go hand in hand, but NO, this was my promise to myself, and No, NOT my New Years Resolution for 2010, my resolution to myself as I move slowly into my 30th year...Only 4 months away, which was suddenly appear as if only a single day had passed. I always said, even when I started this disgusting addiction, "I will quit by the time I turn 30," Well now here it is, creeping up on me. I am trying to maintain positive and "Glass half-full" attitude but there's only so much of that I can stomach in a day.
Moving right along, amongst trying to quit, so far successful, I have also added a numerous list of other things I would like to 'revise' by the time I turn 30. Secondly, as impossible as it may be to get my "high-school" or even "college" BoDY back, I am trying. Its winter & its cold and I get too comfortable and now its time to watch my portions and shed some winter warmth. Summer, will also be right around the corner and this year I would like to feel most comfortable in something called a pair of shorts of which I have not sported in years.
That being said, I have changed my food intake, started a food journal and have lost 5 lbs.
& the irony of this all, is that tonight, I have been asked to be in a video that takes place at a gym...(the closest I come to a gym is a Yoga class that I have not been to in 4 months), I am not really the weigh-lifting type, but I suppose I can stand on a treadmill for an hour or so, try a new beverage and comment on how delicious it is, with a big SMILE for the camera, then go home to relax with a glass of wine. Okay...The craving has passed! Till next time, wishing everyone a lovely "glass half-full day!"
& finally, A Big CONGRATULATIONS to My Mom, on Day 10, My Brother on Day 10 and My Fiance, also on Day 5!!!

Happy New Year (2010)

Gosh, doesnt it feel strange to date papers with a year that doesnt have a 0 in front of it!
Well HAPPY 2010 to everyone. This is going to be a great year, I can feel it! Eventhough both Michael and I started the new year off sick with an awful stomach bug! It was more than awful, imagine your insides wanting to force themselves out of you about 30 times in a single day!! By the end of Friday, I was sore, back and chest, throat and tonsils, and I could not stop coughing! So sleep, or eating, needless to say, was not very easy for my first real weekend off of working at the restaurant:(

But anyhow, thats all in the past, right?
Lets backtrack, eventhough I was already feeling down in the dumps "healthwise" New Years Eve, I came home, took a nap, watched Bridget Jones Diary and forced myself to put on my festive smiley face and dress my best, well comfortable for a snowy night's best. We headed to Kathleen & Ryans for an early evening cocktail and a toast to the New Year, Then over to Shane & Jackies where there were 11 of us, We each had a beautiful Lobster dinner and WAYYYYY too many littleneck clams, try TWO BUSHELS~Joe got the good hook-up for a friend and treated us all.....OH, his date, you are wondering....Well, turns out, I had taken a yoga class on a sunday and I was late, so Patrick (XO Yogo Teacher) put me in the front row and when we had to do partner stretches Mary (Joes Date) was my partner, so we were off to to a great start. Oh, and John & Kate Martorelli came, which was extra special. We all had delicious food & drinks, Jackie makes a fabulous Sangria~ Toasted in the new year with Champagne & a kiss to my honey, then we headed out to the snow, sledding down their back hill until about 3:30am and finally went to bed around 5:30am. In the end, all of that probably contributed to me spending my New Years Day so sickly, but I guess, in a sense, it was worth it.
Well, its Monday evening, I am broiling marinaded chicken in white wine with steamed spinach & garlic and basmati rice while Mike is starting a fire. Feeling better today, went to the Doctor, all is well.
Its going to be a BUSY BUSY week at work so I figured I would get a blog in there, while I had a minute......OH, I almost forgot. Most importantly, we together, (Michael & I) are on Day 3 of NO SMOKING!!!!! Sure, it has its moments of hell, but, it feels pretty amazing on our road to becoming more healthy!
