On Sunday evening Mike and I stayed up late into the night learning this song. We must have sung it 150 times. I highly recommend that you watch the video from James Taylor/Carole King Troubadour Reunion Tour....which I might add that Michael and I were front row at back in June. There is a kind of love between the two of them that is just so beautiful after all of these years. Obviously a true friendship.
Someday if I get the courage while Mike is playing out I might just get up and sing this song!

It is Friday. Thank you.
I just enjoyed a delicious homemade crab sauce, courtesy of my inlaws. It is Friday and I am more than thankful.
W.I.L.T (What I learned today....to refresh your memory)
1) The decision to cut bangs last week when we are experiencing this awfully dreary humid weather....marks a bad idea.
2) Drinks with the girls from Outthink last night was fun. We really should all get out more often.
3) Kai treated me to a fantastic Mexican lunch. (My favorite part of my day)
4) I HATE MATH. I HATE NUMBERS. Unless I am using them to solve magical puzzles or reviewing a positive balance in my bank account...I could do without them.
5) Today was longer than the entire week.
6) October, my most favorite time of the year on the East Coast is right around the corner. I hope I can enjoy every minute of it.
7) Again-Back to the hair....I am hating it
8) I am looking forward to prying myself away from this computer to go see Mike & Don acoustic at La Vita Gustosa
9) I have only 5 days until book club, though I renewed my book ontime from the library, doesn't mean I've been reading it. Henry Miller. Tropic of Cancer.
10) I miss Sheila! I wish she was in town, right now!
11) I have deep thinking and soul searching to accomplish this weekend....
12) I know it's a good sign when Pay Day comes and wasn't waiting for it.
13) Because this is my lucky # I will rack my brain for something more......Oh-I learned today that I trust too much and sometimes I think when you are honest, you get the same in return. Instead you get manipulation, but first-betrayal. Even woman who pretend they do no socialize with other woman are still as caddy as the next.

September 22nd's Harvest Moon
Yesterday was the autumnal equinox and according to my dad we would see the "Full Corn Moon", otherwise known as the Harvest Moon....There was something else thrown in there about being able to see Jupiter and Venus....but if you know me, I am pretty awful at repeating anything with much detail. I tried telling Mike what we were going to be able to see, when he got home from work, and he simply said...."are you sure you've got you stories correct?" See..He knows me.
BUT...thankfully to google. This is the deal:
The Autumnal equinox falls on September 23rd at 3:09am (Universal Time) which converted to North American clocks, that places the equinox on Wednesday, September 22nd (AKA last night) For the Moon & Jupiter to shine all night long on any equinox, these 3 events (the opposition of Jupiter, the equinox and the full moon) all have to happen in conjunction. In 2010 the three events follow one another like falling dominos, with the whole procession taking less than 2 days time. September 2010 presents the only time in your lifetime that you will be able to witness the moon and Jupiter's simultaneous all night appearance on the equinox.
In any event, it was a beautiful full moon and right after these photos were taken we had one heck of a thunder storm. The lighting was so bright that when it struck it looked like early morning light and the thunder shook the whole house. & to top off the lovely evening our skylights in the living room decided to leak like hell!

Sunday at the farm
This morning I went over to Dennis & Kai's house to explore the farm and photograph kids for the first time. Finnegan got to stay up last night until 9:00 watching the fireworks...that's 2 hours past his bedtime!! Somehow he still had an awful lot of energy!! I was wiped after just an hour....boy do I need to work on my metabolism! Here are some shots from the day:

3:10 Minutes...
That's all I have left until my wonderful weekend begins. For some reason this week was awfully long!
We must have lost power last night from the storm and we both jumped out of bed this morning....OH SHIT! Mike awoke because he was waiting to hit the snooze but the alarm never went off!...(He does that at least for a 1/2 an hour every single morning)!
No wonder we were so rested when we finally awoke.....it was 8:50am!! Needless to say we were both very late for work. Funny- because as we went to bed last night we were talking about how its been forever since we had a chance to sleep in. We were actually setting a date for next Sunday as our first opportunity to just NOT EVEN SET THE ALARM!!
Since coming back from California life has been more than hectic. There is a play by play plan for every minute of the day it seems and we are both at are wits end of having something that we HAVE to do.
I have the weekend off (Mike is doing Tony & Julies roof) so I won't be seeing much of him.
Tonight, however, after the gym we are meeting Bev & Fred, Tony & Julie, Kate & hopefully John at the Brushmill. I think we are just going to have some drinks outside over the water and make it an early night.
Tomorrow, if it is beautiful, then Mom, Dad & I will go out on the boat....if it is too windy, Mom & I will go shopping instead. Either way its a perfect Saturday afternoon.
Mike's band is playing a "Fish Fest" in chester later in the evening....Apparently the folks who are hosting it down at the Marina, save up all their freshly caught fish and then fry it up at the end of the summer.....should be interesting. At least the weather will be perfect and it will be nice to be on the water in the evening.
Sunday I get to photograph Kai's adorable sons Finnegan and Varrick at their farm. I am SO excited!!
Oooh....only 2 hours/ 58 minutes left!!

This past Saturday
I was able to escape for just a few hours and head to Danbury to surprise Danyelle on her 30th birthday!
The last time I had seen her, her daughter Celeyna was just born....She is 10 years old now! Time has a way of passing by. It was so wonderful/emotional to be there. Her and her husband Danny have made such a beautiful life for themselves. They have 3 beautiful girls and I am just so happy and proud of them both. Boy....Have we grown up so much since our crazy college days!!

The weather is starting to cool down...
& I find this is the time of year when I do most of my deep thinking. I am happiest in the fall here on the east. The smell of the air always reminds me of goodness. Rustling leaves, walks in the woods, pumpkins, wood burning stoves.
